Why should somebody vote for this guy, what kind of political experience he has other than to build a business totally based on corruption.

accusing anyone of false claim is not good for democracy that we are trying to implement. To become an MP you don't need to have much political experience. Any one from any profession can be a good MP. We need some one who understand issues facing Maldives and specifically Hulhumeedhoo. Someone who honors democracy, can pressure government for various programs that are good for the Hulhumeedhoo and the wider Maldives. Unlike some candidates who are making promises with their own funding. This is the culture we had for last 30years which we are trying to get rid of and most importantly against the spirit of democracy we aspire to have in Maldives. vote for ilyas.
i totally disagrea with the above comment. Majlis seat is very much politicaly related job and the one who comes to the seat also shuld be a one that thinks about poiltics and the issues and well being of the area tht the person contests. so far ilyas is not a least political person rather he has been devoting his whole energy promoting and developing their family business.
The main threat to democracy is our majlis hijacked by business tycoons all the times to with vest interest of self centered their own business. Its high time to say no to any business man whether its Ilyas or any one for that matter. They have only one interest to control their business period.
Those who come to majlis should be good communicators, has this guy ever gave any public speech before he has this quest to become a MP all of a sudden. Public offices are not for sale, you have to earn it by public support, You need to communicate to the level of people.
