Hulhudhoo youth endorsed Ilyas Labeeb
Hulhudhoo youth, in a special gathering held at Hulhumale’ International School last Friday, endorsed Ilyas Labeeb as their candidate for the upcoming parliamentary election slated for May 9, 2009. The gathering was called for introducing the candidate to Hulhumeedhoo people living in Hulhumale’ and launching Ilyas Labeeb’s campaign T-Shirts.
Mr. Ali Manik (Kalhi Ali), a prominent figure in bringing change in last year’s presidential election in Hulhudhoo, honored the launching of T-Shirts. Another new campaign song by the famous vocalist Mr. Mohamed Azleen (Azky) and Lajuna was then introduced by Mr. Ahmed Zahid, the president of Hulhudhoo Sports Club.
Introducing the meeting at Hulhumale’ International School Mr. Ahmed Zahid highlighted the commitment from Hulhudhoo youth to Ilyas Labeeb’s constituency. He thanked Mohamed Azleen in particular for composing such beautiful songs to boost campaign.
On Sunday Mr. Ibrahim Zareer introduced the same T-Shirts to Hulhudhoo people at Dimish Kara campaign ‘Harage’. Many youth participated in the event that was arranged without any prior notice or announcement. “We would provide this special campaign T-Shirts to everyone who is engaged in the campaign, it would spread our message” said a member of campaign team.
Campaigns for various candidates are expected to take its culmination latter next month, however every candidate believes that this year’s parliamentary election wouldn’t be as easy as they had anticipated.

Bottom line; despite of Ilyas's success in the business field, we really want him to fail. We don't want businessmen like Megachip Ilyas, Yacht Tours Loly Jabir and Heavy Load Reeko Moosa to come to Majlis. It will definitely create conflict of interest. Take Herethera for example :)

It's like writing "The World Endorse Obama" or "Maldives endorses Anni" or "India endorses Manmohan Singh". These things will backfire, if used in politics. So, be careful.

i don't have any problems when people have blogs to promote candidates. actually ilyas is doing a good job if one thinks from his perspective. they're simply writing false stories and all. but i'd say that this will backfire. i agree with waheed hassan that we don't want people like magechip ilyas or loly jabir or heavy load reeko moosa. we should do whatever it takes to avoid conflict of interest. my suggestion is to vote for another candidate.

Please don't criticize Ilyas in an indecent manner. I understand Ilyas is not a good choice for parliament due to so many reasons. For example, it will create conflict of interest and on the other hand Ilyas may not be mature enough (There are some young people who are great but Ilyas might not be). Let's talk about whom you support and why do you support him, and let's hear the views of other Hulhudhoo youths.

With regard to Anonymous comment on the age of parliamentarians, I'll have to agree with him or her. In developed countries, people struggle in their early days of life to walk into the parliament. Usually they will be involved in politics during their early days of life, mostly during the university days. Unlike developed countries, in the Maldives, if you can act in a song or sell a computer, the next thing is to think about running for parliament. We need to create awareness on the importance of having politically competent people in the parliament and not people like Loly Jabir, Reeko Moosa, Imad Solih, Megachip Ilyas, Drug Dhonbiley or Jausa Jaufar.

I don;t agree with you when you say Dr Hassan is the most competent person. In a way, right now, he may be our best option compared to Anni and Gayyoom.
When commenting, my opinion is to use good language. Otherwise the whole point of issue based politics will become non existent.
I feel it is very important for us to campaign against MDP candidates to avoid conflict of interest as indicated by Waheed Hassan. It's true that we don't need people like Megachip Ilyas, Heavy Load Reeko, Drug Dhonbiley, Jausa Jaufar or Lolee Jabir.
The massive decline in MDP's support base is a reality to be believed, whether you like it or not.

well, i wouldn't vote for someone who prioritizes "quality" dental care like its on top of the list for an island that runs out of penadol syrup, syringes, the very basic medication or even doctors to begin with. Perhaps Ilyas is too young and has no experience to comprehend the sheer reality, the magnitude of the various problems we face every waking day. Im talking about the many times it gets life-threatening for our selves for our loved ones - for our sons and daughters living in Hulhumeedhoo- AND i promise, - what goes around in our minds during those times, is NOT whether to get a tooth polish or not. The problems we face with our families.... Oh well, why am i even talking about the problems for our families and for our kids, for Ilyas hasnt even started one for himself to understand what its like.

Having lot of comments does not necessarily depict the support base of a candidate. For example, Umar Naseer was heavily criticized during the Presidential Election but merely got even less than 3000 votes.
I think we should hear from Ilyas about what Mary Anne wrote regarding the lies of Anni. We should also hear Ilyas's opinion on MDP's efforts to give herathera to Loly Gabir as a gift.
By the way, I'm happy that you guys stopped calling me the one with fake id. Keep it that way :)
Hay I didn't know that Ilyas hasn't started a family yet.. I think Anonymous is right.. It's important to understand family values when representing a constituency. My advice for Ilyas is to withdraw from the race, become a campaign manager of a potential candidate and finally RUN FOR PARLIAMENT after 5 years. That's a sure win for you. :)
I heard that Sandhaanu Didi is gaining lot of support in Meedhoo which means he is the likely candidate to win the election. I feel that he is the second best candidate as I am thinking of voting Ilyas. Haven't decided though. I don't want my vote to be wasted so I might vote for Didi though I support Ilyas. Hope Ilyas will gain more support when the election is near.
Before I endorse ILYAS i want to know that whether he know how to KISS a girl.....that would make him a potential candidate....but i doubt abt that?! wish someone could show him how to kiss a girl!
Well, Ilyas recently kissed me. He was a bit new but he's got a lot of room for improvement. Hope he does it better the next time.
